ISLAMABAD: Several men protes
ting the Faizabad crackdown on Saturday attempted to break into the house of former interior minister Chaudhry Nisar in Rawalpindi, while more than 100 people atta
cked the house of Law Minister Zahid Hamid’s in Sialkot. The irate men broke the main gate of Nisar’s house and tried to enter the premises, but were confronted by police and security guards. They chanted slogans against the government and leaders of the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N). Over in Sialkot, attackers vandalised and pelt
ed stones at Hamid’s house that is situated in Pasrur. Only a dozen security gua
rds were posted at the house, many of whom were injured in the attack.
